"Classic" Esslingen Historical Walking Tour - #1 tour!

The historical tour is a walking excursion by an experienced, local and native English-speaking guide Tom, who will enthusiastically show you the best parts of Esslingen - the jewel of Baden-Württemberg! You will be amazed by the beautiful half-timbered houses, the old City Hall, canals and parks. This tour is highly recommended for the first-time visitors to Esslingen.

After a brief introduction, we will make several stops on our walking tour including:

• Half-timbered homes, remains of the city wall, tower gates and the view of the castle 

• The famous parish church from the 1300s and the amazing discovery from 1960

• Beautiful “Little Venice”, romantic canals and the charming “inner bridge”, which connected Esslingen to the outside world.

• “Insider” sites, which are not easily found on your own

• The beautiful park on the Maille island

• The old city-hall building with its "Glockenspiel" and astronomical clock - the oldest in Germany!

• Several stories about Esslingen’s history told in Tom's humorous way

• There are approximately 10 stops also allowing time for questions and picture taking.
