This fun tour is a walking excursion by an experienced, local and native-English speaking guide Tom, who will show you one of the highlights of Esslingen - The Esslingen Burg (castle) complex.  This tour is highly recommended for visitors who have already taken the classic walking tour and want to discover more.

• The best view of Esslingen from the upper castle wall and ramparts. Enjoy the beauty the Neckar valley and vineyards.

• Explanation and tour of the castle exterior buildings and fortification walls - the famous Dicker Turm (fat tower) and High Watchtower

• The apothecary gardens and cannon hillock

• The well-known Melac House and the famous story

• The former, water-storage cavern (cistern), special access required (Tom to coordinate)

The duration of this walking tour is approximately 60 minutes and and will start and end at the top of the Esslingen castle (accessible with stairs or with the local bus).  The cistern requires sure footedness and is not appropriate for those with claustrophobia
